About Melanie Vasseur

Melanie Vasseur, the creator of Vasseur Skincare, is a cosmetic chemist, esthetician and leading authority on the science of skin care with over 30 years industry experience. Melanie is an expert contributor to Dermascope, American Spa, Spa Management, Skin Deep, and other top beauty publications and is the author of the acne book Under My Skin. Melanie has appeared on radio and television nationwide and continues to contribute to the spa and skin care field as a faculty member teaching advanced skin care education to doctors, estheticians, cosmetologists, and nurses.

The Story of Vasseur Skincare

Melanie Vasseur created Vasseur Skincare in 1987 because she had serious skin issues and could not find products on the market that were both natural and effective. The all-natural products she tried did not work, and the professional grade products she tried were somewhat effective, but were loaded with harsh chemicals, preservatives and parabens.

But the story of Vasseur Skincare really began much earlier, in 1966, when Melanie was age 11. At 11, Melanie developed severe acne and became so insecure about her skin she could not even look people in the eyes. Desperate to combat her acne, she tried virtually every product she could find - both prescription and non-prescription - with little to no results.

So Melanie decided to take matters into her own hands by obtaining a degree in nutrition and chemistry, with the goal of creating a skin care line to prevent others from having to endure the same agony she experienced as an acne-afflicted teenager.

She went on to become a licensed esthetician and shortly thereafter began the early development of her skin care line based around using fresh, natural and highly-potent ingredients. As her skin began to show remarkable improvements, everyone wanted to know her secret – and try whatever she was using! This marked the beginning of Vasseur Skincare, and now, over 20 years later, Melanie's exclusive fresh, natural and professional strength products have produced amazing results for her thousands of devoted clients. And despite the line's incredible growth, all products are still made in small batches by hand...just now with a lot more hands.
