If your products are fresh, does that mean they will spoil or go bad?

No. While we don’t use any artificial preservatives in our products, we do use a natural preservative, citric acid, which gives them a shelf life of about one year. To preserve the freshness of products longer, keep them stored in a cool and dry place and avoid exposing them to extreme heat.  Over time, some products can become separated - this is perfectly normal - and can be fixed by simply shaking the product or mixing it with a Q-tip.

Does fresh skin care really deliver superior results? If so, why aren't there more fresh skin care lines?

I currently don’t spend much on skin care (I’d rather spend my money on shoes)… is it really worth it?

Well, think of it this way: your face is the first thing - and often only thing - that people notice and remember about you, so it makes sense to take care of it. But, beyond that, your skin is a living and breathing organ that needs care and nutrients just like your body. Every day your skin is constantly being exposed to dirt, grime and pollution and needs to be cleaned out and replenished. Purchasing good skin care is not frivolous spending; it’s an investment in your long-term health and beauty. Your shoes will wear down or go out of style, but your face will always be front and center.

I’m having trouble deciding what combination of your products will be best for my skin. Can you help?

Yes. We know it can be overwhelming with many products to choose from, so we have developed two ways to make it easier to select the products that will be best for you. First, we have designed specialty Kits that meet specific skin care needs (i.e. acne, anti-aging, dry skin, sensitive skin, etc). If we don’t have a Kit that meets your needs, you can schedule a free skin care consultation with one of our skin experts (consultations can be conducted by phone or in person at the Vasseur Skin Salon and Spa). During the consultation, we will assess your skin and provide you with customized product recommendations.

Can I use Vasseur Skincare products on my face in addition to other skin care brand products?

Of course you can, but we don’t recommend it. Most skin care products (even expensive ones) contain chemical preservatives, parabens and other ingredients that are toxic or irritate the skin. Using them in combination with our products can actually reduce our products’ effectiveness. Think of it this way, it would be like trying to lose weight by working out during the day and gorging on food at night – they counteract each other. If you want to experience the maximum benefits of our products, we recommend that you use Vasseur products exclusively on your face. 

Do your products work for men too?

Yes, our products don’t discriminate! Our Foaming Cleanser works as a fantastic shaving cream and our Chamomile Toner works great as an aftershave (it also kills bacteria and helps prevent ingrown hairs). I have moderate acne; how long can I expect to see results after starting to use your acne line?

There are a few things you should know about the nature of acne that will allow our products to have maximum effectiveness for you. While our products will clear your skin within one to two weeks, it can take between 3 to 6 months to completely get acne under control. This is because there are toxins, bacteria and build-up lodged deep in your pores that take time and energy to remove completely (to speed the process, get a deep cleansing facial regularly).

Acne also develops from the inside out, and diet and stress are often to blame for flare-ups. So, if you really want to heal your acne, you also need to take control of your diet and stress levels. We recommend following an anti-inflammatory diet (in short, consume lots of water and vegetables and avoid processed foods, dairy and sugar). In some cases, you could even be suffering from an undiagnosed food allergy that is causing breakouts–if you think this could be the case, get tested. And last but not least – practice safe stress. Stress leads to an inflammatory response in the body, which can cause breakouts, so it’s critical to get your stress under control. Prioritize taking time to relax and rejuvenate by going on walks, mediating, doing yoga, taking a bath, or doing whatever makes you happy and relaxed. Why haven’t I heard of Vasseur Skincare before?

For over 20 years, our company has grown almost exclusively through word of mouth; we have done little to no marketing whatsoever. Because we want more people to experience the value and superior results of fresh, results-driven skin care, (and because this is too good of a secret to keep to ourselves!), we decided to create a new website to share our story and our products with the world.

Can I purchase Vasseur Skincare at retail locations?

Currently, you can only purchase our products online and at our Day Spa in downtown San Diego. To preserve freshness, we make our products and ship them directly to you. At our Day Spa, we bring in fresh products every month.
